LOCATION: Play is based in NYC but all positions are flexible / remote.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
— Work closely with our Design and Engineering teams to build the new macOS platform for Play
— Work with the team to test, release and maintain the Play macOS platform
— Participate in collaborative ideation sessions with our leadership team around new features for our product roadmap
— Document functional requirements as needed
SKILLS YOU HAVE
— 4+ years of experience with AppKit and Mac Catalyst
— Experience with things like memory leak QA and performance optimization specifically for macOS applications
— Experience with tools like Instruments and Xcode Organizer
— Experience coding in Swift and UIKit
— Experience with Firebase
— Basic knowledge of design tools and related industry platforms
— An understanding of what it means to be a good teammate—and the ability to put that understanding into practice

Play was founded by four partners: JoonYong Park, Michael Ferdman, Eric Eng and Dan LaCivita, who all come from different backgrounds and disciplines. We all worked together for over 15 years at design and technology agency, Firstborn, which was founded by Michael in 1997. After creating hundreds of digital experiences for clients, we shifted our focus to rethinking how teams could design and build digital products, in search of a better way.
We’re on a mission, not just to build another design tool, but to create a new paradigm that empowers product teams to create more thoughtful and impactful digital products.
